Project design: Meteor architects
The concept designed in the competition for the extension of the Sculpture Faculty of Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.
The idea was to develop a modern, pure space, which creates appropriate working conditions for students. The mass arising from the conditionsof competitions, a simple, scale and materials referring to the context, made up of simple forms, contrasting planes. Porous, precious, heavy, exprssive brick juxtaposed with large areas of glass - smooth surfaces, light, highly illuminating interior. Functional system shaped by creating three tracts - the first - communication (brightens the interior, visually "open building on the existing historic buildings, providing contact with what is the historical value of the complex), the second tract - footbridges conducting to rooms, skylights, gaps between floors, technical rooms; the third - studios joined together. In interiors the main material is raw, bright concrete, the idea was to create a "art factory".
